The Italian American Museum of Washington DC, is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian R. Della Rocca, Esq. as the Legal Counsel to its Board of Directors. Della Rocca, the founder and principal of Della Rocca Law LLC in Gaithersburg, Maryland, is a well known lawyer with over two decades of experience navigating the intricate realms of estate, trusts, probate, business and nonprofit law. He serves the Montgomery County, Maryland and Washington, DC, metro areas with dedication and skill. He is frequently quoted in financial outlets like Journal of Financial Planning and Money Magazine.

Throughout his career, Mr. Della Rocca has become known for his clear and practical approach to unraveling complex estate, trust, tax, and business matters. Over the years, he has provided valuable guidance to a wide array of clients, including business owners, retirees and mid-life planners, helping them with estate, tax and asset protection strategies. He has also worked for the Embassy of Italy.
Mr. Della Rocca’s earned a B.A. from the State University of New York College at Oneonta, a J.D. from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law and an LL.M. in taxation with a certificate in employee benefits from the Georgetown University Law Center. He has been licensed in Maryland since 2003 and in the District of Columbia since 2008. He is also admitted to practice in numerous federal courts.
A sought-after speaker, Mr. Della Rocca frequently shares his insights on estate planning with fellow attorneys, certified public accountants and financial advisors. His skills have been featured in numerous publications, and he has been quoted in the Journal of Financial Planning and Money Magazine on the complexities that can arise after a person’s passing.
Mr. Della Rocca is an active member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Bar Association of the District of Columbia and the Montgomery County Bar Association. His contributions include serving on the Estates and Trusts Section Council for the Maryland State Bar Association and co-chairing the Maryland Estate and Gift Tax Study Group. Additionally, he boasts an “AV Superb” rating from Martindale-Hubbell, “Superb” rating on Avvo, and was selected a Rising Star (for attorneys under 40) in Super Lawyers from 2009 to 2014 and a Super Lawyer (for attorneys 40 and over) since 2021
Della Rocca has been and active member of the Italian American community in Washington, DC. He was elected President of the Lido Civic Club in 2015 after serving in various leadership roles. He has previously done pro bono work for the Italian American Museum of Washington DC.
